The Reader Dashboard enables you to receive a list of suggested open access articles for reading using keywords. The suggested articles are ones that have been indexed by DOAJ for now
It can be accessed by clicking on the Reading icon in the menu or can be access

Step-by-Step
Keywords for Suggested [Open Access] OA Reading
- Go to My Profile and scroll to Keywords for your suggested OA reading. Here you will find a text box where you can enter your keywords using free text and clicking the tick to save. To add multiple keywords you will need to seperate search terms by using a commar. Once you have added your search terms click the tick to save.
- You will then see the message Keywords were updated successfully. Go to Reader Dashboard ->
Edit Keywords for Suggested OA Reading
- To remove a keyword go to My Profile and scroll to Keywords for your suggested OA reading. Here you will find a text box where you can edit your keywords. You can then remove the keyword(s) by deleting the text.
- Click the tick box to save the changes.
- You will then see the message Keywords were updated successfully. Go to Reader Dashboard -
Reading
On your reading page you will see a list of 20 suggested articles from DOAJ based on your keywords. Here you can view the following article information:
- Article title
- Article abstract
- Article keywords
You can then choose to Read it or mark it as Not Interested. Once you have an article or marked it as not interested in will be removed from the list. You can view your Reading History by clicking on Reading History at the top of the page
The suggested list with then populate with further suggestions
Note: If you have only just set up or edited your suggestions it may take a minute or two to update.
Clear suggestions and history
If you wish to clear your suggestions you can do this by clicking Clear suggestions and History. This will remove all suggested articles and your Reading History
No suggestions for your keywords at this time message
If you receive the following message on your Reader Dashboard: There are no suggestions for you keywords at this time
It could mean on the of the following things:
- The keywords used do not generate any results. If so, you should edit your keywords
- You have marked all available suggestions as either read/not interested. If so, you may want to edit your keywords or try another day as the tool will update with new articles as they are published.
